Human verification
Employer websites sometimes ask you to prove you are a person or confirm it is really you. ApplyPilot always hands these checks to you. It does not solve, skip or work around them.
What counts as a verification
- CAPTCHA, reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or Cloudflare Turnstile checks
- One-time codes sent by email or text message
- Codes from an authenticator app, and other multi-factor prompts
- Passkeys, security keys and approve-on-your-phone requests
- Being asked to sign in again
What happens
- The Local Agent notices the check and pauses that application. Nothing is submitted while it is paused.
- You get a Windows notification from the Local Agent first, then any browser notification you turned on, and an Action Required card in the dashboard. All of them name one check and resolve together. They name the kind of check, not the code or any page content.
- If the employer sent you a code (by email, text or an authenticator app), type it into the card and click Send code to my computer. Your browser encrypts the code for your computer only, and the Local Agent types it into the employer's page.
- Otherwise, or if you prefer, click Show me the employer window. The Local Agent brings the employer's own browser window to the front on your computer.
- Complete the check yourself in that window, exactly as you would if you were applying by hand. Passkeys, security keys and phone approvals are always done this way.
- The Local Agent sees the check is gone, re-checks the form, and continues. Your review settings still apply before anything is submitted.
What ApplyPilot never does
- Use a CAPTCHA solving service or try to answer a challenge automatically
- Read, guess or find a one-time code on its own. The Local Agent only enters a code you typed yourself
- Store or read your codes, CAPTCHA tokens, cookies or passwords in the ApplyPilot cloud. A code you type in the dashboard is encrypted in your browser for your computer only; the cloud passes it along without being able to read it and keeps nothing
- Show the employer's check inside the ApplyPilot dashboard
- Relay CAPTCHA tokens, passkeys, security keys or phone approvals
- Imitate a security key or passkey
If you are away
The application waits. If the employer's check expires, the dashboard shows it as expired and you can reopen it or cancel that application. Other applications are not affected.
Email confirmation links
Some employers email a link to confirm your email address for an application. That is different from a sign-in code. Anything that looks like a sign-in or security check is treated as a verification you complete yourself.
Confirming your Local Agent's device key
Before the browser sends a credential or a verification code to your Local Agent, you confirm the agent's device fingerprint. The ApplyPilot Agent window shows it each time the agent starts (or open Start, ApplyPilot, Show security fingerprint); check that every character matches the fingerprint the dashboard shows. The browser remembers that trusted device key locally. A new browser, a private window or clearing site data means you confirm it again; the confirmation is never restored from the cloud.
If the dashboard says the device security key changed, nothing was sent. If you reinstalled or reset the Local Agent on purpose, remove the old device and pair it again. If you did not expect a change, stop and contact support. You can always save a job-site password on your computer from the Start menu entry Save a job-site password, instead of using the dashboard, and you can always type a verification code in the employer's window yourself with Show me the employer window. On a new browser, open the Local Agent page once to confirm the fingerprint before entering a code there.
